It runs well and idles well, but the top end is really noisy above idle.?

I do know lifter noise as I have knowledge of motors, I built motors for stock car racing. It didn't happen all the time,but when it did it sounded bad I used syn3 first, then I switched to amsoil and it got much worse. Bubbie the bike is stock as of now, the noise is in the top end. As far as the cam goes- I am leaning more and more towards the ev3. This is a known issue in the top end.
